I call myself a reading pig because when I read a novel, I cannot stop until I finish the book. I cannot read in spurts--I've tried time and again. I wish I could read in spurts. I know people who do, and I envy their ability. To me, however, it feels too much like pausing a movie multiple times. Drives me crazy! So... when I want to read a novel, I have to block out an entire day (if it's a thick book). I don't dare start reading in the late afternoon or I will continue reading into the wee hours of the morning.
I'm a sugarholic in recovery. I wonder if there is a recovery program for reading pigs.
Haha! I think the perfect vacation would be to go someplace with no phones or TV and a stack of books, a lounge chair and someone to bring ice tea every once in a while. I have a bad habit finishing a book no matter how bad it is. Does anyone else do that?
ReplyDeleteI used to keep reading even when the book stunk, but over the past few years I've changed. Now I lose patience and want to move on to an enjoyable book since I have such limited time to read. I tend to get a stack of books from the library in hopes one of them will turn out good. (I start reading one, and if after a few chapters, it doesn't grab me, then I move on to another one.)
