DAY 41 -- Reading Pig

I call myself a reading pig because when I read a novel, I cannot stop until I finish the book.  I cannot read in spurts--I've tried time and again.  I wish I could read in spurts.  I know people who do, and I envy their ability.  To me, however, it feels too much like pausing a movie multiple times.  Drives me crazy!  So... when I want to read a novel, I have to block out an entire day (if it's a thick book).  I don't dare start reading in the late afternoon or I will continue reading into the wee hours of the morning.

I'm a sugarholic in recovery.  I wonder if there is a recovery program for reading pigs.

  1. Haha! I think the perfect vacation would be to go someplace with no phones or TV and a stack of books, a lounge chair and someone to bring ice tea every once in a while. I have a bad habit finishing a book no matter how bad it is. Does anyone else do that?

  2. I used to keep reading even when the book stunk, but over the past few years I've changed. Now I lose patience and want to move on to an enjoyable book since I have such limited time to read. I tend to get a stack of books from the library in hopes one of them will turn out good. (I start reading one, and if after a few chapters, it doesn't grab me, then I move on to another one.)
